Bullet point rundown of the Winter Formal related events of the day:

  • Finally bought tickets…literally a minute before prices rose.
  • Did some very quick shopping and bought heels (for the first time!) and makeup (also for the first time!).
  • Since shopping was also very last minute, I went to Nordstrom’s and just grabbed the first pair of passable heels I saw. When I found out they were on sale, I was totally sold.
  • After realizing the dress I ordered online won’t be arriving on time, I was glad I had a backup dress prepared…until I found out my mom had accidentally machine washed it, leaving the collar sadly ruined.
  • It’s too late to get another dress now, so I guess I’ll try to do some first aid sewing and hope for the best.
  • After 8 hours and a miniature world war, carpools have finally been settled…at least to the extent that nobody’s going to be left alone twenty miles from the venue.
  • I’m excited for tomorrow!

Every year at my school, the AP Lit students are given a month to write an out of class research paper.

And every year, we all procrastinate it until the night before.

…It’s become kind of a rite of passage.

I guess this would be my traditional complaint post.

Too much Crime and Punishment = Not enough Crime and Punishment

Despite photo evidence to the contrary, my social life has been slowly slipping away between college apps and senior year classes. I can’t say, though, that first semester has been all that bad. These kids make it worthwhile.
